Reuters
ROME — Ethiopian police Sunday seized control of an Italian plane hijacked in Somalia and freed at least three people on board.
The Italian Foreign Ministry said two Somalis hijacked the 10-seat aircraft, piloted by an Italian and with two flight attendants on board, as it flew from Bardera in southern Somalia.
The hijackers forced the plane to fly to Dolow on the Ethiopian border, where Ethiopian police seized control of the aircraft and released the hostages, the spokesman said.
