ORANGE : Council to Vote on Fireworks Ban
The City Council will vote tonight on whether to ban fireworks, a divisive issue the council has considered several times in the last 20 years.
Residents are invited to participate in a public hearing on the issue at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Last fall, a committee voted 3 to 1 to recommend that the council prohibit the use and sale of fireworks in the city. The council is expected to consider alternatives that include banning fireworks outright and calling for a referendum vote.
