2nd $15-Million Lotto Winner Is Identified
State lottery officials Wednesday identified the second $15-million winner in last weekend’s Lotto 6/53 drawing as a Los Angeles machine operator who says he saw the numbers in a dream.
Fernando Cruz, 35, came forward earlier this week to claim half of the $30.12-million jackpot, the 10th largest in California history. The other half was claimed Monday by a retired San Francisco city employee.
Cruz’s daughter told lottery officials that before the Saturday drawing, he dreamed of reading a newspaper and only the winning numbers were on the page.
“He doesn’t speak English,” said lottery spokeswoman Joanne McNabb.
Cruz and Cecilia Gaddini, 66, will each receive $15.06 million in 20 annual installments of $602,400 after federal tax is withheld, McNabb said.
