HUNTINGTON BEACH : 2 Suspects Arrested in Holdup, Assault
Two men were arrested Monday in connection with the robbery and assault of a 33-year-old local resident.
Roberto Jimenez, 24, and Francisco Mesa, 21, were held on suspicion of robbing Manuel Martinez of $350 and beating him with a baseball bat, Police Lt. Ed McErlain said.
Martinez told police that he was assaulted by four men while walking down Beach Boulevard about 4:50 a.m. Monday. Martinez also said that one of the assailants displayed a knife but did not use it during the robbery, according to McErlain.
