Times Television Guide Expands Cable Coverage

The Los Angeles Times Valley Edition and West Valley Cablevision have entered into an agreement for The Times to produce a newly expanded, weekly television guide with broadcast and cable television listings and features.

The new book, a redesigned version of TV Times, will be available in all copies of The Times delivered or sold in the area served by West Valley Cablevision. That area includes communities north of Ventura Boulevard, west of the San Diego Freeway to the county line and north to Granada Hills. Jeff Hall, president of The Times Valley and Ventura County editions, said the redesigned TV Times guide will be “colorful, easy to use and more comprehensive than any other guide available.”

Tom Belcher, executive vice president and general manager of West Valley Cablevision, said, “I look forward to working with The Times in providing this guide, which will give our customers many benefits and advantages previous books were not able to offer.”

Hall added that he expected to be able to make similar announcements regarding new system-specific program guides for other area cable companies within a few weeks.
