THE EYE THINKS

It was with horror that I gazed upon the photograph “Good Reputation Sleeping.” The freedom to choose whether or not to be exposed to nudity in “works of art” is in the hands of the individual. When the individual is under the age of consent, the responsibility falls upon the parents to establish what the child may or may not view. How is a parent to prevent a child’s viewing objectionable material when there is no warning that it will appear?

I have four children, the oldest being 10. We do not allow them to view such pictures as you have published. Shall I now remove from them the liberty to read the daily newspaper?

Please attempt to retain your reputation as a family-read newspaper.
