Robin Hood’s Pal: Morgan Freeman will play a key role in “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” Morgan Creek Productions announced this week. Freeman will play Aslan, who befriends Robin Hood. Freeman joins cast members Kevin Costner and Christian Slater. The film will be released next year by Warner Bros. Freeman, who will next appear in the film “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” is best known as the chauffeur in “Driving Miss Daisy,” for which he won a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar nomination.
