Midfielder Brian Quinn and goalkeeper Zoltan Toth will represent the Sockers on the Major Soccer League select team that will play two exhibitions against the U.S. national team in late September, a league source said Wednesday.

The full team will be announced today during a press conference in Kansas City.

Kansas City and St. Louis will host the games, to be played Sept. 28 and 30.

Quinn is considered among the top midfielders indoors. He also proved his ability outdoors in 1988 when he played for Hamilton of the Canadian Soccer League. He joined the team when it had a record of 0-3-6, then helped carry it to 12 consecutive victories. Hamilton took its streak all the way to the league championship game before losing.

Toth platooned with Jim Gorsek in goal for the Sockers in their final outdoor season in 1984. His 0.95 goals-against average was lowest in the North American Soccer League, though it was not recorded in record books as such because Toth did not play enough minutes. He also led the league in winning percentage at .700 (7-3).
