Two F Street Bookstores were robbed about an hour apart late Friday and early Saturday, but police did not say if they think the same culprits were involved.
The first robbery--at the F Street Bookstore in the 2000 block of University Avenue--happened about 11 p.m. Friday, said San Diego Police Sgt. Chuck Peck.
Peck said four men, one armed with a shotgun and the other three with handguns, entered the store and ordered everyone to the ground.
They took the wallets of three shoppers and $84 from the store’s register.
The second robbery happened shortly after midnight on Saturday when two men armed with a shotgun and handgun went into the F Street Bookstore in the 7900 block of Miramar Road, where they took five patrons’ wallets and $1,200 from the register.
“In both robberies the suspects had their faces covered with a variety of different items,” Peck said.
