Old-Fashioned Days Fund-Raising Events
Town Councilman Michael Murray said Tuesday that the Old Fashioned Days Committee has scheduled a series of community events to raise funds for the annual Altadena parade and celebration.
On Oct. 27, the committee will hold a ‘50s dance in a parking lot on the corner of Lake Avenue and Calaveras Street from 7 to 11 p.m. Festivities will include a lip-syncing contest, in which contestants will mouth ‘50s tunes, a beer garden and a display of vintage ‘50s cars. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes from the era.
The next Old Fashioned Days Parade is scheduled for April 27, 1991. KABC-TV weatherman Dallas Raines, an Altadena resident, has been suggested as grand marshal.
