Rockets Trade Lucas, Get 2 Hawks
The Houston Rockets traded much-traveled guard John Lucas and injured center Tim McCormick to the Atlanta Hawks for guards Kenny Smith and Roy Marble Thursday.
Smith, the sixth selection in the 1987 draft, was traded by the Sacramento Kings to Atlanta midway through last season. He averaged 11.9 points a game overall, but 7.7 points in 33 games with the Hawks.
Lucas, 36, winding up his third stint with Houston, was waived twice by the Rockets earlier in his career after testing positive for drug use.
