LOCAL : Ruling on Brando Trial Delayed
A judge in Santa Monica today delayed a decision on whether the murder trial of Marlon Brando’s son will begin as scheduled Oct. 9 despite prosecution requests for postponement.
Superior Court Judge Robert Thomas scheduled another hearing for Thursday to rule on whether prosecutors can have additional time to seek the return of Cheyenne Brando from Tahiti to testify against her half brother Christian.
Christian Brando is charged with murdering Cheyenne’s lover, Dag Drollet, at the actor’s hilltop mansion last May 16.
Cheyenne Brando, 20, left the United States in June and returned to her native Tahiti, where she gave birth to a boy, the son of Drollet.
Cheyenne was later hospitalized in a sanitarium in Tahiti. Marlon Brando said last week that his daughter has had psychiatric problems in the wake of the killing.
