University of Washington football Coach Don James has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by the school’s No. 2 all-time rusher, Vince Weathersby, who played from 1985 through ’88.

Also named in the suit filed in King County Superior Court was the Huskies’ team physician, Steve Bramwell, and trainers Dennis Sealey and Doug Calland.

Weathersby, a Los Angeles native who lives in Seattle, alleged that Bramwell, Sealey and Calland were negligent in treating a shoulder injury the running back suffered in 1987, causing him long-term problems.
