Body Found in Desert That of Missing Girl
Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives Friday identified a body found in the Antelope Valley desert as a 14-year-old Lancaster girl who had been reported missing by her family two days earlier.
On Thursday afternoon, a passing motorist spotted the body of Angela Migliore partially hidden by brush next to a desert road near 70th Street East and Avenue N, officials said.
Although investigators did not disclose the cause of death, the case is being treated as a homicide, Lt. Bill Christiansen said. He declined to comment on whether Migliore had been killed at the scene or elsewhere.
The girl’s parents reported her missing about 10 p.m. Wednesday, saying she had left home after a dispute over disciplinary problems, deputies said. The parents said she had left in the family car, which was found near 13th Street East and Avenue I Wednesday, deputies said.
