Midway Airlines Sells gates and routes: The carrier sold the Philadelphia gates and routes it acquired from Eastern Airlines for $100 million last year to USAir for $64.5 million. Midway, a money-losing airline based in Chicago, said the sale would result in a $32-million charge in the fourth quarter. The sale, if approved by the Departments of Justice and Transportation, would bolster USAir as the largest carrier in Philadelphia.
