SHORT TAKES : Studio Named for Greer Garson
SANTA FE, N.M. — Academy Award-winning actress Greer Garson was honored with a film studio in her name, and she said she hopes it will spread “understanding and peacemaking among all peoples.”
Hundreds of actors and prominent New Mexicans turned out Saturday evening for a dinner to commemorate the opening of the Greer Garson Communications Center and Studios at the College of Santa Fe.
Garson, 82, was unable to attend because she was recovering from the flu at her Dallas home. But in a telephone call to the audience, she said she wants the center to advance the cause of communication around the world.
