Suspect Held in Gang Shooting
ORANGE — A man was in custody this morning, booked as a suspect in the fatal gang-related shooting of a 20-year-old Corona man, authorities said.
Police declined to identify the suspect, saying the investigation is continuing.
According to a police account, the victim, Roberto Gonzalez, was walking down Tustin Avenue when several men on bicycles approached him. Soon, the group began arguing and one suspect pulled a handgun, shooting Gonzalez in the chest, police said. Gonzalez was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting at 4 p.m. Sunday. Police said they do not know what prompted the argument.
