Dr. Connery: Oscar-winner Sean Connery will star in “The Stand,” the story of a doctor who finds a cure for cancer while doing research in the Amazon. Donna Dubrow, the film’s producer, will start production in February on location in a jungle region, possibly Guatemala. John McTiernan, Dubrow’s husband, will direct the film. He worked with Connery in “The Hunt for Red October.” Dubrow has been trying to get the film made for six years, first at MGM, then at 20th Century Fox.
