COSTA MESA : Governor Names 4 to County Fair Board
Gov. George Deukmejian has filled two vacancies on the Orange County Fair Board of Directors and reappointed two members for a second term.
Don Willet, 45, of Irvine will fill the vacancy left by former board member Robert L. Seat of Santa Ana, who resigned earlier this year. Willet, a political consultant, is the former executive director of the California Republican Party and served as executive assistant to Orange County Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez and former Supervisor Bruce Nestande. Willet will serve the remainder of Seat’s term, which runs through January, 1991.
Randall G. Smith, 43, of Yorba Linda will fulfill the term of Larry Thomas of Irvine, who also resigned. Smith is senior vice president of Van Dell & Associates engineering firm and is president of Smith Public Affairs, a governmental consulting firm. Previously he was an executive assistant at the Southern California Edison Co.
Beverly Langston, 58, of Newport Beach and Tom W. Thomson, 44, of Corona del Mar, were reappointed for second terms through January, 1994.
The nine-member board meets each month to oversee the operations of the Orange County Fair and Exposition Center.
