A burglar slipped out of Ray Maiwurm’s home with a collection of baseball memorabilia valued at $100,000.

Besides baseball cards dating to the 19th Century, Maiwurm lost such prized possessions as baseballs autographed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and Yankees jerseys signed by Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.

“It kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth,” the 41-year-old dentist said. “Am I supposed to keep it under lock and key in a safe? What good is it if you can’t enjoy it?”

Maiwurm said the items would draw attention.

“It’s not the kind of things you can walk into a shop and sell,” he said.
