Pasadena : School Improvement Plan

The city and the Pasadena Unified School District may work together to improve school district buildings, provide after-school programs and subsidize bus rides for senior high school students.

The district asked for city help in these areas, and city directors agreed Tuesday to research the idea. A meeting to discuss the idea is planned for January.

Under the preliminary proposal discussed Tuesday, school buildings could be improved using money from newly created redevelopment agency projects that include schools. State money could also be used to buy $1 million worth of student bus passes for senior high school students.
