Son Pleads Innocent of Father’s Slaying
A North Hollywood man charged with killing his father pleaded not guilty Friday after being captured in Northern California where he walked into a police station and asked for money, authorities said.
Timothy C. Dominguez, 19, was arraigned in San Fernando Municipal Court on a charge that he murdered his 46-year-old father, Alexander Dominguez, during an argument in the home they shared. The victim’s body was discovered Nov. 13 dumped off Mulholland Drive, and police immediately began looking for the son who had fled in his father’s car.
The younger Dominguez was arrested Wednesday in Ft. Bragg when he walked into the local police station and asked for gas money so he could drive back to San Francisco, Ft. Bragg police said.
Ft. Bragg police said they routinely run a computer check on people who ask for money from the department’s transient assistance fund, Sgt. Floyd Higdon said. After Dominguez gave a desk officer his license, he said he had to get something out of his car and walked out of the station.
But he never came back and when it was discovered there was a murder warrant out for him, police began searching the area, Higdon said. Dominguez was discovered a few minutes later at a nearby gas station and was arrested without incident.
