OXNARD : Man Gets 6 Years for Bank Robbery
A 32-year-old Ventura County man has been sentenced to almost six years in federal prison for the robbery of an Oxnard bank earlier this year.
Victor Murillo Martinez faces five years and 10 months in custody, followed by a five-year probation term, U.S. District Judge Edward Rafeedie ruled Thursday.
A federal grand jury indicted Martinez in May in connection with robberies at American Savings Bank, 560 S. A St.; First Nationwide Bank, 1055 S. Oxnard Blvd.; and Security Pacific National Bank, 455 S. A St., all in Oxnard, said Gary Auer, head of the FBI’s Ventura office.
Martinez pleaded guilty to robbing American Savings Bank and the court dismissed the other robberies, Auer said.
