COLLEGE BASKETBALL / WOMENS’ ROUNDUP : Leslie Sparks Trojans in Victory
Lisa Leslie, despite foul trouble that kept her on the bench for about half the game, scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Trojans beat Old Dominion, 72-61, in the first round of the Roger White Invitational basketball tournament Friday at Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill.
“In the second half, we stuck to our game plan,” said Coach Marianne Stanley, who had a particular reason to make a good impression. She came to the Trojans (2-0) after coaching at Old Dominion.
“They had a good game plan in wanting to keep the ball away from Lisa. She didn’t really get into her game with quick fouls.”
