CAMARILLO : Volunteers Sought for Agency Hot Line
A nonprofit Ventura County social agency is seeking volunteers to staff its suicide prevention hot line or to work with runaway children and battered women.
Interface: Children, Family Services of Ventura County will hold an orientation program for potential volunteers from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and again Jan. 7.
The orientation, which will include talks by program coordinators, will be held at the agency’s Camarillo office on 1305 Del Norte Road, Suite 130.
People with backgrounds in psychology or sociology can be especially useful in working with victims of violence, but the agency will welcome and train volunteers with any background, coordinator Jacque Negrete said.
