An unidentified pedestrian was killed Monday while attempting to cross westbound Interstate 8 west of Fairmont Avenue.
The pedestrian may have been trying to cross the road from the fast lane when he was struck about 5:45 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Randy Search said.
The driver of the pickup truck that hit the man remained at the scene, Search said. The Arizona man was traveling at 55 to 60 m.p.h. and was not at fault, Search said.
