6 Injured in Chain-Reaction Collision
IRVINE — Six people were injured in a seven-car pileup on the San Diego Freeway Saturday when a northbound vehicle struck two other cars during a lane change, then flipped over the center divider and hit four cars traveling in the opposite direction, highway patrol officials said.
The 3:28 p.m. accident near the Culver Drive exit started a chain reaction that tied up traffic for more than an hour, Highway Patrol Officer Raul Malfavon said. Six people were transported to area hospitals with minor to major injuries.
