All 30 witnesses at a public hearing on the scope of an environmental impact report on the reconstruction of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum voiced support of the project.

At the end of the 90-minute hearing, representatives of the Los Angeles Raiders football team expressed gratification at the support from residents and businessmen. Even preservationists told the hearing that they support reconstruction of the 67-year-old stadium, as long as certain historic elements are preserved.

A draft environmental impact report on the project is expected to be ready in four to six months, after architects submit drawings of a final proposed design for the new Coliseum. About 100 people attended the hearing at the Sports Arena, next door to the Coliseum.
