San Marino Student Wins Math Contest
Ben Chong of Huntington Intermediate School in San Marino had the top individual score in the 18th annual math competition at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead. He has been offered a $1,750 scholarship to Don Bosco.
Joseph Tseng and Catherine Lee tied for second place and Brock Smith placed third. All are from South Pasadena Junior High School, which won the team competition.
Schools whose students received honorable mention included: Ynes Elementary School in Monterey Park; Royal Oak Intermediate School in Covina; Oak Avenue Intermediate School in Temple City; Garvey Intermediate School and Muscatel Intermediate School, both in Rosemead, and Foothills Junior High School in Arcadia.
