Microsemi Corp. Reports Loss of $11.5 Million for Fiscal Year

Microsemi Corp., the Santa Ana semiconductor company, reported a net loss of $11.5 million for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, compared to a loss of $8.4 million a year earlier. Revenue for fiscal 1990 declined 14%, to $88.9 million from $103.5 million.

For the fourth quarter, a net loss of $11.5 million was reported, compared to a loss of $9.4 million for the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue fell 7%, to $23.5 million from $25.2 million.

The company said the fourth-quarter results were affected by an $11-million reserve to cover the losses and associated costs from disposition of troubled businesses.
