A U.S. review panel has delayed decision on shotputter Randy Barnes’ appeal of a two-year doping suspension until it receives more information.

Barnes, the world record-holder in the shotput, and fellow American Butch Reynolds, the 400-meter world record-holder, were suspended for two years by the International Amateur Athletic Federation on Nov. 5 after testing positive for steroids at European meetings in August.

Both athletes have denied taking steroids and are appealing the suspensions through TAC, the sport’s U.S. governing body.
