San Diego
Two gunmen wearing plastic Halloween masks, black jackets and gloves stole an estimated $10,000 and an unknown number of checks from an apartment complex office, San Diego police said Friday.
The robbery took place about 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Bay Vista apartments in the 4800 block of Logan Avenue, said Bill Robinson, police spokesman.
The men, who were carrying small handguns, entered the apartment complex office and ordered a worker to lie on the floor while they took the money. They put it in a white canvas bag and left on foot, Robinson said.
Robinson said the office often cashed state aid checks for residents of the apartments.
