Reuben Paul Hughes; Former President of Hawaiian Punch

Reuben Paul Hughes, 79, president of Hawaiian Punch in Fullerton for 30 years until its acquisition by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in 1963. He served on business advisory boards and as a director of such institutions as Cal State Fullerton, St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, Loyola Marymount University and several community organizations in Orange County. Hughes joined Pacific Citrus Products Co., forerunner of Hawaiian Punch, in 1944 and continued as a director for Reynolds until retiring in 1976. On Sunday in Fullerton of what a spokesman described as natural causes.
