Troops Report Killing 150 Rebels in Rwanda

NAIROBI, Kenya — Rwandan troops have killed 150 rebels and wounded many others in renewed fighting near the Uganda border, Rwanda Radio reported.
The radio said that about 800 rebels--remnants of a force of Rwandan exiles who invaded their homeland from Uganda in October--launched an attack through Muvumba, in Byumba prefecture, on Friday.
It said the rebels came from the direction of the Ugandan border and that survivors fled back into Uganda, abandoning weapons and ammunition.
