Former President Richard M. Nixon, who turns 78 today, will be serenaded by more than 250 schoolchildren singing “Happy Birthday” at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace, officials said.

Following the tribute, Nixon will speak to the students by phone from the Pennsylvania home of his son-in-law and daughter, David and Julie Eisenhower.

Copies of a rare photo of the former president (see Page A1), taken in 1914 when he was a year old, will be distributed to visitors. Also, admission to the library will be free for Yorba Linda residents, and the library will stay open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate the crowds.
