The Sidelines : Beating Suspect Arrested Again
The man facing trial for the brutal beating of a fan at a Los Angeles Raiders football game was arrested again, this time for alleged drunk driving.
Shane Geringer, 20, who is free on $30,000 bail in the assault case, was booked after a sheriff’s deputy stopped his car Saturday on Las Virgenes Road, 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles, said Deputy Sue Cross. Geringer, whose blood-alcohol level was 0.14, nearly twice the legal 0.08, was cited and released, Cross said. No court date was released.
Geringer, a former Agoura High School football player, was charged with assault after the beating of a Pittsburgh Steelers fan Sept. 23 during a Raiders-Steelers game at the Coliseum. Paul Albrech, 35, of Tucson, was hospitalized for more than a week with a head injury after the attack.
