Public Reaction to Violence

“Speak Up or the Criminal Wins” asserts Samuel Pillsbury, Loyola Law School professor (Commentary, Dec. 24).

The professor should have titled his piece “Speak Up and the Criminal Wins Anyhow.” Like the majority of Californians, I’ve supported every pro-capital punishment initiative and candidate that’s come along, including turning out the bulk of the state Supreme Court. We won ‘em all. The result: Thousands of murders, zero executions.
