New Whitney Director: New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art has named David A. Ross as its new director. Ross, 41, resigned Wednesday from Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art, where he has been director for nine years. Ross’ past positions have included deputy director and chief curator of the Long Beach Museum of Art from 1974-77. Ross is scheduled to take his new post Feb. 4, replacing Jennifer Russell, acting director since March.
