PIRU : 2 Hurt in Crash Still in Critical Condition
Two men cited for drunk driving, including a 32-year-old Fillmore resident, remained in critical condition Sunday with head injuries from a head-on crash on California 126 near Piru Saturday, authorities said.
The men were injured when a vehicle driven by Morgan Freitag, 22, crossed the center divider of the highway about 7 p.m. and struck an auto driven by Kevin Snyder of Fillmore, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Both Freitag, whose city of residence was unknown, and Snyder were flown to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where they were treated for major head injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Freitag was cited for suspicion of felony drunk driving, and Snyder for suspicion of misdemeanor drunk driving, the CHP said.
