Two bombs exploded on motor scooters outside New Delhi police headquarters and a court building within five minutes of each other today, wounding at least 34 people, police said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

A young Sikh taxi driver seen running from police headquarters was detained for questioning, police officials said. But they said it was too early to say whether the blasts were part of the violent separatist campaign by Sikh militants.

Last Thursday, a bomb exploded outside a travel agency that is the New Delhi sales agent for American Airlines. Police said that bombing may have been the work of Iraqi or Palestinian agents angered by the U.S.-led attack on Iraq.
