Twenty-one skiers named to represent the United States in the World Alpine Ski Championships still don’t know whether they will be allowed to compete in the two-week competition at Saalbach, Austria.

U.S. team officials have been assured that security has been increased at Saalbach against possible terrorism related to the Middle East conflict.

American racers were pulled out of competition in France and Switzerland last week when war broke out in the Persian Gulf.
