Controversy Over Protests
I have just talked to my grandson, a Navy Seal, who is waiting to see if he will get orders to go to the Persian Gulf. On TV I am having to watch a group of protesters burning the American flag! And I am angry. Our brave boys are over there fighting for that flag and all that it represents. I feel that the desecration of the emblem of our democracy should be a punishable offense. A peaceful protest is one thing, but burning of Old Glory is another. Shame on anyone who took part in that obscene act!
