1 Killed, 1 Wounded in Suspected Drug Shooting
One man was killed and another critically wounded Friday in a shooting that may have been drug-related, Pasadena police said. Killed was Kevin Mallory, 24, of Los Angeles, a Boys Market employee. He was found dead at 12:40 a.m. in the driver’s seat of a brown Toyota stopped on Penn Street near Los Robles Avenue in Northwest Pasadena, Pasadena Police Sgt. Monte Yancey said.
Police found his body when they responded to a report of shots being fired. Critically wounded was a 19-year-old passenger, who was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Police withheld his identity for his protection. The two men were probably shot from outside the car with a large-caliber handgun. No weapon was found, Yancey said.
