Soka Improvements Commended
When I read of the recent controversy over the Soka property, I was tempted to write on their behalf.
Anyone who knew the site prior to their purchase would be amazed at the difference. They have done a wonderful job of restoring the whole property to something of its original grandeur. They even allow curious strangers free access. No one else would have. I feel good about them owning it.
Now comes the Yosemite Park and Curry Co. deal, which has the new owners being pilloried by no less than the Interior secretary. Apparently, “these people” should not be allowed to own the rights to an “American national park.”
Why not? It cannot be run any worse than it has been, as any longtime visitor can testify.
