For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Plant camellias now. They’re beginning to bloom, so you can choose exactly the color you want.

* If your indoor plants start dropping leaves, you may be watering them too much. They need less water during the short days.

* Check container plants that may have dried out from being protected by the eaves of your home.

* Mouthwatering berries will be yours this spring if you plant some bare-root blackberries, raspberries and strawberries that are available now.
