COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Torrid Master’s Wins in Another Rout, 95-71
Forwards Tom Bruner and Jason Webster each scored 14 points to lead The Master’s College to a 95-71 victory over Southern California College in an NAIA District 3 game at Master’s Bross gymnasium.
Joe Jon Bryant, a 6-foot-7 center out of Winston-Salem, N. C., highlighted a 16-4 Master’s run with a two-handed slam to start the second half that got the Mustangs off and running in what became a rout over the defending District 3 champions.
“I thought it was a great win for us because we have played the top three teams in the district this week,” Mustang Coach Mel Hankinson said. “To beat them by this much indicates to me that we are peaking at the right time.”
The Master’s improved to 14-7 and moved into first place in district play with a 7-2 record.
Center Jeff Bickmore had a game-high 22 points for Southern California (16-5, 5-3).
