Show Will Not Go On: An amateur production of the musical comedy “Kismet” won’t be performed at Modesto Junior College this spring because it spoofs Baghdad. The musical is filled with “stereotypical lecherous Arabs,” said Jim Johnson, the community college’s drama instructor, as he called off the planned production Monday. Johnson noted that one song asks this question about Baghdad: “Why would anybody on Earth want to live here?”
