Playboy Enterprises Inc.: The Chicago-based publishing and entertainment company said its second-quarter net income rose to nearly $2 million, compared to $459,000 in the year-ago period. Revenue was up slightly to $46.1 million, compared to $45.5 million last year. The company cited the strong performance of its publishing group, particularly Playboy magazine, and a one-time gain from interest income on a tax refund.
