California IN BRIEF : BAKERSFIELD : Mother and Boy, 3, Found in Mexico
U.S. officials in Mexico have located a 3-year-old boy who was kidnaped from a Bakersfield hospital last November. Eduardo Mejia was found by U.S. federal authorities, who said Eduardo and his mother, Yolanda Rodriguez, 22, were living with relatives. Rodriquez was suspected of kidnaping her son from Kern County Medical Center on Nov. 6 while he was being treated for pancreatitis. The boy was found in good health and apparently had been treated at a local hospital, sheriff’s officials said. Mexican authorities said they do not intend to extradite Rodriquez.
