VENTURA : Children Can Make Valentines for Vets
The BlueStone Gallery in Ventura will provide materials and instructions Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. to children who want to make valentines for veterans.
The valentines will be sent to a central distribution center set up by columnist Ann Landers and will be distributed to veterans hospitals throughout the nation, said Karen Stone, gallery owner.
“The valentines will be sent to veterans hospitals because we need to remember there are other vets out there,” besides the active service men and women fighting in the Persian Gulf, Stone said.
